On May 23, 2025, the 34th "2025 AR/VR/AI Industry Chain Exchange Conference" of "Science and Technology Innovation Bao'an · Frontier Hui" was successfully held at the Bay Area New Technology and New Product Exhibition Center. It attracted more than 80 enterprise representatives and technical experts from the industry chain to participate.

Nikahood (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.'s Marketing Director Xi Wuxing shared the application of volume holography technology in AR optics. Firstly, we reviewed the development history of the AR industry and believed that with the continuous breakthroughs in key technologies of core display devices and the trend of decreasing costs, AI+AR is expected to ignite the consumer hardware market.


Continuing with the analysis of the evolution of optical solutions in the industry, the optical waveguide solution has become the mainstream solution due to its lightweight and high transparency appearance, as well as excellent pupil expansion ability. The volume holographic waveguide developed and produced by Nikahood has the advantages of low production cost, high optical performance, and low light leakage. Xi Wuxing believes that the volume holographic waveguide has the opportunity to become the ultimate path for consumer grade AR glasses.

Finally, we emphasized the three core barriers of Nichic holographic technology: HPDLC materials, independently built production level exposure platforms, and optical path design capabilities. The HPDLC material independently developed and produced by Nikahood has a refractive index modulation of 0.14 and a haze of 0.4%, ensuring excellent display performance of volume holographic waveguides with leading material properties; Due to the lack of standard mass production exposure equipment on the market, Nika independently built an exposure platform and adopted two production modes: multi beam exposure and mask exposure; In terms of optical path design, Nika independently developed a holographic grating coupling wave algorithm and optimization program based on the diffraction law of volume holographic gratings, and combined commercial software and developed DLL plugins to achieve systematic design.
